To mark the results of the GEFF program and to contribute symbolically to the fight against climate change, during November, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the European Union and Austria will plant 1,000 trees in six Western Balkan countries.
As part of this activity, 180 white ash trees were planted during a ceremony which took place on dt. November 16, in the Mjull-Bathore area, Tirana. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of OTP Albania Bank, as one of the main supporters of the Financing Program for the Green Economy of the Western Balkans (GEFF), Mrs. Jonila Janku, Marketing Department Manager and Mrs. Rovena Dubali, Product Management Department Manager.
Participants in this activity were also the Mayor of Tirana, Mr. Erion Veliaj, EBRD Director in Albania, Mrs. Ekaterina Solovova, z. Andrea Vera, Head of Sector in the EU Delegation and the Ambassador of Austria in Albania, Mr. Christian Steiner.
Planting these trees is an EBRD’s reward for the 18 most active partner financial institutions and for 32 producers and traders of energy efficient technologies, for their contribution to the success of the GEFF program in the Western Balkans. OTP Albania Bank is proud of the support provided to this program through financing in the field of energy efficiency.
Through this program, investments in green technologies worth over 45 million euros have been financed and over the last four years, over 9,000 households in the Western Balkans region have relied on this program to improve energy efficiency by making various investments in their homes.
